Adaric Archipelagos
From Codex Vocrotha
Geography
The Adaric Archipelagos is an island cluster; at the height of the Country of Adaril, the cluster consisted of approximately 80 islands, perhaps 15 of which were large enough to support large settlements, and all but a very few able to sustain development and cultivation. Although its exact location is no longer known, it is no less than a month's travel to the south of Henge by sea, and it exists along no currently existing shipping lanes between Dalkiar, Vadria and Khozhn'ol.
To the southeast of the cluster lay the largest, and at one time most fertile, island group, which was first settled by the Vasriel, Zephriel and Kâlindur on their arrival due to its rich resources. The main island was named Adaril ("Sweet water", literally, a reference to the many freshwater springs on the island) by the Zephriel, and was home to a dormant volcano they named Uladír; it was renamed Melikoth ("Ruined land") after it was devastated by the Wraith-Queen. To the West lay Thalim, home of the first Human holdings. East lay Ceriphos, eventually claimed by slaves escaped from Thalim, and to the north lay the rough islands of the Confederacy of Deligos.
Of special note is the general structure of the island cluster and also the island most central to that cluster. A casual glance at the cluster reveals what appears to be something of a radial design, almost as though the islands might form the caldera of a much larger super-volcano -- while no evidence exists to suggest this might have been the means of formation of this cluster, it does seem to be a strong option. Secondly, of note is the apparently artificial island in the dead center of the cluster, Galin, the Isle of the Oracles.
