Human

From Codex Vocrotha

Physical Description

Humans appear as one might expect, varying in height from five to seven feet

Sociopolitical Outlooks

Humans are contradictions; in their deepest nature, tribal creatures, and their strong adapatability allows them, in groups, to modify their surroundings and themselves just enough to survive nearly anywhere. They also possess a strong sense of independence, however, and because of this, Human societies will vary widely, from entire nations to tiny nomadic caravans, from bountiful tropic regions to harsh arctic ones. Rarely will they willingly live alone, outside contact with others.

It is this independence, however, that not only separates them from the other races, but keeps them from uniting racially into one nation. While many races have had kingdoms unto themselves -- the Kâlindur, the Solindriel after, and the Drakkhozhn throughout -- Humans continually war with each other, and as one kingdom rises, another group gathers to oppose it. Despite the fact that the Human, Paldor Daln, has ruled over one of the longest-lived Empires in history, not ever has he been without the opposition of his own race.

Allies & Enemies

Because of the varied nature of Humans and their beliefs, they are allies and enemies to most races, depending on their affiliation. Humans that live in the service (or under the rule) of the Lords of Night often find themselves befriended by the Gochin, Ur, Tenebriel and Dolgothros races, while those under the dominion of the Lords of Light are often seen with Solindriel, Kâlindival, Zephriel, and Feralis. Regardless of their beliefs, Humans are extremely uncomfortable around the Drakkhozhn and the Lyđuđræ, and while they may work with the creatures, it will always be with a watchful eye.
