Lords of Night

The Lords of Night are the four loosely allied Gods who have joined together with the stated intent to destroy creation and begin it anew: specifically, Rigos, Vran, Toras and Dalor. This alliance was formed with the Act of Dalor during the Creation Myth and has held ever since. Though Dalor can be said to be the founder of the Lords of Night, the alliance was supposedly suggested not by him, but by Rigos, and not originally for the purpose of destroying creation but as more of a mutual defense pact, for at the time the Goddess of Gifts was faring poorly in her war against her sister, Rilan. Dalor, realizing that the combined focus of all the Gods against him would be overwhelming, agreed, and it was this original alliance that provoked the Lords of Light into joining together.

Unlike the Lords of Light, the Lords of Night have varying levels of commitment to their apparent goal of universal oblivion: Dalor is fully committed to it, while Rigos seems more interested in the pact as a means of combating a common enemy and stealing their power. It would seem to be this lack of unifying purpose and focus that keeps Night from dominating the war of the Gods.
