Valdur's Children

From Codex Vocrotha

A reference to all Sentients based from the Creation Myth of Vocroth. According to myth, a select group of Elwan's Children were given the gift of sentience through the Act of Valdur, and thus were called his children once the gift had been given.

Oddly, though Ardus also bestows a gift upon these chosen beings, they are not renamed the Children of Ardus once they have received that gift. The implications of this wording has been a sore spot between the two sects for time immemorial, with the Valdurians maintaining that theirs was the greater gift, while the Ardusians claim that without their refinements, sentience would have been for nothing. Typical of most religious debates, this one neither appears to have a convenient answer nor an apparent end.
